Cheapskate: emusic - The Best $20 You’ll Spend Today

I posted this on my personal site a while back, but I thought it was worth revisiting:

The site emusic.com is ridiculously cheap compared to the other mp3 download services like iTunes and Amazon’s new mp3 downloads section. Cheapskate: Be On The Lookout

You may have already seen this via Engadget, but your neighborhood CompUSA is shutting down. Actually, all of them are.

So, be on the lookout for some sweet liquidation deals. They are set to close their doors after the holidays, so most everyone will already be weary of shopping - that’s when we cheapskates can swoop in. Check back here later, since I’m sure to post the deals as I find them.

Cheapskate: Super Cheap Stuff At CompUSA

For some reason there is a “business partners” sale going on right now at the Hawaii CompUSAs. It’s supposed to be for employees and business partners, but they had to open it to the public. Janey and I walked in and they told us about it and gave us this sheet of paper to put down anything we wanted. They would then look up its price, which would be their cost +6%. Anyway, we walked out of there with some insanely cheap stuff. For instance, I bought two 1GB DDR2 notebook RAM sticks for $25 each, that were supposed to be $45 each. And I got a USB cord that was $25 for $4. And a Wii charging station for $22, regularly $30. Anyway, it’s only going on until 10pm tonight, so if you read this in time, get down there!

Cheapskate: Free Audiobooks

If you’re anything like me, you like your things to be free. That’s why I thought I would share this site - LibriVox - that has over 1000+ audiobooks for download, for free. All the books are public domain, so it’s legal and all that.

How could you turn down free Dickens, Plato and Pushkin?
