This is the second album from British pop duo The Boy Least Likely To. When I say “pop”, I mean pop; there isn’t even a semblance of rock in this pop, sir. So poppy, in fact, that it almost feels like this music is more fitting for a grade-school audience than a weathered, rock-battered old soul like me.
Luckily, these songs are good enough to make me forget my years and transport me back to an earlier time. Granted, these songs aren’t life-changing, but their insistent positivity really gets under your skin about halfway through the album. Only time will tell if this is a throwaway record, or something a little more lasting, but for now it’s definitely worth a whirl.
