Oh, I see you all showed up wearing your favorite costume; guy who dies like a bitch.
And with dialog like that, we begin the Afro Samurai demo review. Maybe you are like me, and you’re a little skeptical of the upcoming hack and slash. You wouldn’t be out of line; it does feature robots in feudal Japan, cell-shading or worst of all… Samuel L. Jackson.
But I gotta tell you, this game is better than you think. Possibly fun even.
For the first time since seeing him eaten by a shark in Deep Blue Sea, I’m happy to see SLJ in a role. He’s actually pretty funny in this game (well, the demo). It’s anything but a wooden role, thankfully the game itself is pretty fun as well. It’s very bloody (a plus!): when you slice enemies in half you will see torrents of blood shoot out of them. The combat is actually pretty tight and the gore-splosions are your reward for a perfectly-timed strike. Give the demo a try, it was enough to get me interested in the anime.
The demo did a very good job of getting me interested in learning a little about the backstory of Afro and the world he chops his way through. I mean, who is this Kuma character?

If you don’t play the game you definitely should watch the anime. Top notch!
And that seals the deal, to the internet for the downloading.
There’s this site, it’s called Threevue, they did a review of the anime once. I think the guy that wrote the review is teh koolness.
