Fact: 95% of the games available for the iPhone are utter shit, 4% of the games are okay and 1% are actaully fun and worthy of a paid download.
Jelly car falls in to the 4% category with slight leanings in to the rarefied 1% sector. What holds Jelly Car back from being a real “hit” on the iPhone is the brevity of the experience. The idea is great; you just drive a car made out of Jell-O through obstacles and change the car’s size to maneuver tough blockades. That’s it, free and fun. The controls are intuitive but just a tad sluggish. I found myself trying to perfect the Circus level where you have drive across a section of land while spinning atop a large ball. Tough stuff.
All in all, it’s completely free and way more fun that the endless variations on Arkanoid or Jezzball that the app store has to offer.
