As you may already know, the E3 trade show is set to kick off this week, with tons of announcements and news to coincide with the event. Since it’s invitation-only nowadays (and we definitely didn’t get an invite) it will be our duty to scour the internets for valuable info and pass it along, with an accompaniment of unfounded and biased opinion to boot.

Although the festivities don’t kick off until tomorrow, there have been plenty of pre-expo announcements and leaks. That’s where we’ll start.
Big pre-E3 news items:
Xbox 360 20gb price drop, 60gb model on the way
Gears of War 2 multiplayer bots
New Prince of Persia monster looks awesome
Mark:
I’m checking out the E3 site right now to see what little nuggets of digital goodness they are providing, and I watched an “E3″ exclusive trailer for Tom Clancy’s Endwar. I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty pumped about this game. Controlling and entire army in a massive theater of war with just your voice? Count me in. This has the potential to be one of the most fun multiplayer games ever if it’s done well.
There are a few other trailers and info trickling out the of the site, but tomorrow will begin a flood of VG related news that would make Moses go, “Holy shit.” I really wish I could be out there for it, at least for the meetups. Maybe next year.
Russ:
I am pretty excited about the GoW2 multiplayer bots announcement. I like shooting dead and lifeless beings right in the face while practicing my skillz before heading out to real-life multiplayer. Plus, that new monster video for Prince of Persia (all two seconds of it) is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while.
Microsoft’s big conference is tomorrow morning, and I hope they announce some sort of avatar or dashboard update. I would also like the previously-promised ability to delete games from my gamerscore/profile that I never earned any achievements for. Like the time I played the Shrek N Roll demo on XBLA, which is STILL on my profile.
Tyler:
Dead Space looks like it may be just the thing to cure me of my not-liking-faceless-space-suit-wearing-heroes-aphobia. The one thing that I would like to see is if there is more to the game than just strategically removing body parts of the enemies. Yes, it is cool that a headshot is not always an instant kill, but don’t make me play bodypart-Jenga with each and every bad guy. Give me some fast paced run and gun as well, please.
Unlike Russ, I don’t want any Wii rip-offs invading my Xbox. I like things just the way they are. I already have a Mii for my Wii and a Gamer Picture for my 360. It’s the same principal behind me not wanting motion control for the 360, leave that gimicky stuff to the underpowered systems.

Oh my God! Did you hear all the announcements for Rock Band 2? If not here is the wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RockBand_2
All I can say is, “Awesome”!
