What you see above is a picture of my new, white, 16GB 3G iPhone. The iPhone itself isn’t in the box, because, well, I used it to take the picture you see above.
My brother-in-law and I got in line at 7am and didn’t walk out of the store until 11am. I didn’t count how many people were in line, but there were a couple hundred AHEAD of us, and just as many behind.
I’ve waited for this little bastard since it was first announced in January of 2007, and I kind of wish I had just got it when it first came out. Because it’s pretty damn awesome. Granted, I’ve never even owned a cell phone that could connect to the internet, so this is a big step up for me.
Within minutes of getting it home I already had it synced with my favorite iPhoto albums, my contact/address book, calendar, podcasts and music. And it was really as easy as plugging it in. I’ve heard people had all sorts of problems with theirs, but I’ve had nothing but smooth sailing so far. I was also able to throw some movies I had on my iPod with no problem; they look great and it makes a big difference to be able to watch a movie while listening through its speakers as opposed to headphones.
My only complaint so far is that I can’t send a mass text message, or a text message to more than one person, for that matter. I would really like to just spit out an SMS with my new phone number, but I’ll have to send a spam email out instead.
UPDATE: After a quick trip to Apple’s iPhone “tips and tricks” section, I was able to figure out how to send mass texts. It’s not as simple as checking off everyone you want to send the text to (which would be great), but it gets the job done.

It helps pictures if you wipe the lens with your shirt first. Next gen iphones will wipe themselves with their own shirts I hope.
PS- Get used to accidentally hitting space bar twice in order to place a period.
