Today while folding laundry I watched the first two episodes that I’ve ever seen of the Discovery Channel show “Deadliest Catch.” You know the one: a bunch of bearded grizzlies, ex-cons, and “greenhorns” risk life and limb just so some rich people can dip the decapod’s meat in some butter and make a mess of themselves while talking about mutual funds and overseas export markets and whatever else those elitist jerks talk about.
It’s actually a pretty good show, and I learned more about king crab fishing in one hour than I had ever known in my life, which was nothing. There is also a “Deadliest Catch” game coming out that I won’t play, but who knows, maybe it will inspire a whole new generation of gamers to make the trek up to Alaska and freeze to death so I can enjoy some King Crab Royale.
