Review: Horton Hears A Who

I watched Horton Hears A Who the other day as I decided to take a nap. The film played out while I faded in and out of consciousness, exhausted from this past week’s work.

Horton is an elephant that hears voices coming out of a speck of dust, which actually houses an entire planet full of Whos (you know, like those guys in the Grinch movie). The whole jungle doesn’t believe him, and events are put into motion, yadda yadda yadda.

Thing is, it’s a kid’s movie, and it has a very simple storyline, but it actually ended up dragging on a bit. It could have been a bit shorter, but that’s forgivable. Steve Carrell and Jim Carrey did pretty good voice-acting jobs, and…

…man, who am I kidding. I was so out of it during this whole movie that I probably only saw about 60% of it. And it dragged on because I lost my sense of time while dozing off. But it was a pretty crazy experience, and one I would recommend to someone else. So, if you ever feel super tired and you want to take a nap, pop this movie in and try your damnedest to pay attention. It’ll turn a predictable family flick into a surreal, out-of-body experience.

Score: “Who knows?” out of 100
