This may sound a little odd, especially taking in to account my consistent disappointment with most Simpsons Games past and present; but this Simpsons Game is AWESOME! No joke. Here’s why…
It’s a good old fashioned platformer, that much you can tell from the ads. The mechanics of the game are nothing special and the camera is out to kill you. It gets frustrating and it really doesn’t break any new ground in respect to gaming as a medium….now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you why this is one of my favorite games of 2007.
This is the funniest game I have ever played, hands down, on any console ever (not that there is really any competition). Not just that, but it is one of the best Simpsons episodes (more like 6 episodes because I played it for over three hours) I have been lucky enough to watch. I caught myself literally L’ing OL every few minutes. It just does things that no game/Simpsons episode has ever done before, you find yourself asking why it hasn’t been done before. I would like to give kudos mainly to the team of writers who pieced each line of dialogue together to make a hilarious game. Where else would you be able to play through the Duff Factory, the Land of Chocolate the inside of a video game and the entirety of Springfield, among other places?
Sadly, there aren’t as many super-fans of the show, such as myself, as I would like. Knowing this it is safe to say that not everyone, or many in fact, will get as big a kick out of the game as I did. But, if you know Principal Skinner’s real name and can tell me what animal went in to making Mr. Burn’s vest… then this game is for you my friend.

I read this on my Blackberry in class and started cracking up at the very end. This is next in my Gamefly queue, I’m looking forward to playing it. I think I’ll be able to overlook all the problems because the Simpson’s parts are going to be so good.
