Merry Christmas all! Seeing as how I’ve shown nothing but the bad side of the cosplay circuit, I figured that the Holidays would be a good time to showcase one of the better specimens the worlds next Official Olympic Event; dressing up like anime/video game characters.
SUBJECT #7
Grey Fox

I’m usually so caught up with belittling the cosplayers that when a legitimately well done creation finds it’s way on to my screen, I’m a bit taken back. This is one of the finer examples of the craft that I’ve come across, hands down. Even though it’s a woman inside the costume, I’d like to give the wearer a carpal-crushing handshake and a hearty slap on the back, as I look upon her with welled up eyes, brimming with tears and admiration. Hit the jump for more examples.
Looking at these pics and the eventual research that I undertook on the origin, back story and character of Frank Jaeger, AKA Cyborg Ninja, a nostalgic (is 1999 long enough ago?) and gleeful feeling overcame me. I slipped back in to the head space of the kid I was when I the techno-assassin chopping genetically enhanced super soldiers to confetti. Remember how awesome that was when you saw it for the first time? I remember being the first time I saw games as something as influential and stylistic as film, the fact that action and drama could be portrayed in the same way as a big-screen movie amazed me.

PS – Yeah, I photoshoped the color a little on the VS picture. See the all of the creators’ pictures here.

PPS – Just in case you needed proof as to the bad-assery that is Frank Jaeger:

Ok…..Is there any way to make a suit just like that for me, E-mail me and Ill send you my height and weight specs. Ill pay a large ammount ofm one. Just one edit I request. That ou change the blue to black and the orange trim to orange or blood red(the red would be coool…not Grey Fox but still cool.) If it is also possible, if you g with the red, make the helmet a black or dark grey.
Thanks!!!!!
I will pay large ammounts of money.
Dear Vigor,
Sorry to say, but I didn’t make the outfit. If you go to cosplay.com you should be able to find the person who did, though. Just look up “metal gear ninja”.
I’m still willing to accept your money, however.
